Become a Palmer/Pletsch Certified Sewing Instructor
Course Training Requirements
To become a Palmer/Pletsch Certified Sewing Instructor (CSI), you must successfully complete:
- Fit, or Pant Fitting & Sewing workshop PLUS its teacher training,
- OR Beginning Sewing Teacher Training
- OR Jackets workshop PLUS Jackets Teacher Training at Home
Once you complete a workshop and teacher training in the same topic, you may apply to be a Palmer/Pletsch Certified Sewing Instructor. This program is designed as a continuing education program so you can constantly better yourself and your skills.
Ongoing Certification Requirements
After applying, to maintain your certification, each year you will need to earn 100 points or Professional Development Units (PDUs) in order to renew your certification.
You can earn additional points for completing additional workshops as follows:
5-day workshops – 50 PDUs
4-day workshops – 40 PDUs
2-day mini workshops – 20 PDUs.
We will also give you a list of the things you can do to earn PDUs, all of which will help you improve your business (a list can be found in the application/renewal form below).

Bi-monthly CSI Zoom meetings are offered to CSIs. Step 2: Download and Complete the Application/Renewal Form
At the time of payment, download and fill out the Application/Renewal form, and email or mail it to us. Once you become a Certified Sewing Instructor, you will be notified of additional resources available to you.
