McCall’s 6746 The Twist Dress Pattern
This dress has just two pattern pieces with a lot of styling options. It can be made longer or shorter depending on the amount of twist. For variety, you may want to use these contrast options:
Use two different shades of fabric: One for contrast and one for outer fabric. Do the opposite colors from the front and back if you’d like. For example:
OPTION 1: Outside layer is black, inside layer is white.
OPTION 2: Front outside layer is white and back outside layer is black. When worn inside out , it will be the opposite.
You can also make the back longer than the front. To do this, simply slide the foldline of the pattern away from the fold of the fabric. This will give more fabric and room in the twist area. Use a stiffer woven fabric for a more voluminous look and a silky fabric for a draped soft look.
