A while back I ordered your “Full Busted?” video.
I have been sewing since high school (35+ years). I gave up sewing tops and bodices for myself because I could never get the correct fit. (I have an “inverted triangle” figure.) I spent most of my time sewing for dance schools or friends and just sewing pants/skirts for myself and clothing for my children when they were very young. My very slender high school home economics teacher back then didn’t or couldn’t teach me a proper technique for fitting a full bust .. “Just add inches to the side to get it to fit”, she would say. Well, you know that just doesn’t work!! I looked like I wore tents.
I always felt very self conscious of my shape. In high school I was a size 14 for the bodice, size 10 for pants/skirts. I felt like an anomaly. Necklines never fit well … until now.
I used your McCall’s pattern 6282, view D, and did the full bust adjustment – simple with the correct adjustment lines already printed on the pattern! The fit is perfect and my friends think it is a “couture” dress. I don’t feel self-conscious of my shape in any way anymore.
Instruction on the video is very clear. Having a closet where each item of clothing is well made and fits properly is within reach now. Thank you.
