Learn to Tissue Fit and Fabric Fit
In this 2-day class you will learn to tissue-fit a simple blouse. We will give you a comprehensive presentation of The Palmer/Pletsch Tissue-Fitting Method. You’ll measure for size, tissue-fit a blouse or shirt pattern, alter it to fit you, then cut from fabric and pin-fit to make minor adjustments. The alterations made on this blouse will show how you differ from a commercial pattern.
Learn to choose the best interfacing for your fabric and properly fuse the interfacing to the facings. You may tissue-fit additional style tops if time allows.
Mini Sewing Vacations are limited to 6 students per instructor.
The workshop includes lunch, the Palmer/Pletsch “Perfect Shirt” blouse pattern Butterick 6842.
Take Fashion Fitting the Upper Body again.
The study of fit is ongoing. As fashion changes, there are new fit challenges. You will have two full days to tissue-fit and fabric-fit any top or dress patterns you desire. Bring questions you want answered, and plan to spend time watching others being fit—there is much to learn in that process!
And again, and again…
Continue to refine and MASTER your fitting and sewing skills under our expert guidance. If you teach fit, you will want to watch even more bodies being fitted and more alteration challenges tackled. You will truly achieve your masters in fit!

Amelia, from the UK, says: “I started dressmaking about two years ago. I am obsessed with fit, but have never got it quite right until I bought the Palmer/Pletsch Complete Guide to Fitting. Wow! Your book has transformed my sewing and made me understand about fit and how to achieve it. I’m telling all my sewing buddies about it! What a difference this has made—although I now seem to be even more picky! I now realize how awful the fit is with all my ready-to-wear clothes!”
