UPDATE NEWSLETTER for ALL Palmer/Pletsch Teachers 2010 Issue #2 July 2010 I had a great time in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, where I did four seminars and a Vogue, Butterick, McCall's fashion show at the Nancy's Notions Sewing Weekend. I had dinner with the lovely Nancy Zieman and the very funny Rita Faro and Mary Mulari after watching their presentation. Summer is here finally. It's been a long time coming to Portland. Workshops are going great, and then in August I'm headed to the ASG conference in Atlanta. Busy times! |

New Pant and Fit Teacher Training CD When you repeat a workshop, I give you the latest Teacher Training CD of images, no charge. I just completed a revision of the pant slides and script, adding new slides and eliminating some. I am about to do the same for the Fit CD. If you aren't planning on attending again in the near future but would like a new CD, send a check for $25 to cover costs of making the disk and mailing it to you. Write on the check which CD you want. You can only get the CD if you took teacher training for that workshop.

We have successfully found a manufacturer in the U.S. to make PerfectSew. We are going back to the original, thicker formula for greater stiffening, but will maintain the price of the last 8 oz. bottle. We will however, dispense with the spray. It isn't necessary according to Perfect Sew guru Marta Alto who simply spreads it on with her hand. Nozzles get clogged and are a nuisance. We only did it in the beginning because of a "spray starch" type product competitor. We feel confident we don't need to worry about that any longer. We will also have a 32 oz bottle for $29.95. If you bought four 8 oz. bottles for $11.95 it would be $47.80, so it will be quite a savings. Quilters are using the large bottle to soak a quilt for embroidery. Katrina Walker dilutes Perfect Sew to make silk chiffon a little stiff for easier handling. The new bottles should be in our warehouse in a late August. Here's an update to the pattern ordering information I gave you in the last newsletter: Design #2718 is our “Learn to Fit” special order design offered in the McCall's catalog. In McCall’s Early Summer issue on sale March 2010, the price will change on the catalog page to $15.95. The price to teachers will remain at $4.00 each for minimum order of 12. This is the same price you are offered on the pant fit patterns. One advantage to you is that if you charge a "kit fee" for your class, the perceived value of the pattern is higher.
