These are not just any
patterns! The Apron for Artists and Chefs pattern was
designed to help a beginner learn to sew successfully. For example, the side
edges are on the straight of grain, not bias. The guide was written by teachers
and tested by students over a two-year period. Make a toddler apron to match an
adult's - all sizes are included in the one pattern! The Unisex Kimono Robe
& Pajamas pattern is also designed for beginners, but best used as a
second project. The aprons, pajamas and robe may be made with
quilting cottons, poly/cotton blends and cotton flannels -- all fabrics easily
available. Teachers of the Palmer/Pletsch System of Teaching
Beginners
use the Apron for Artists and Chefs pattern in their Level I classes, along with
samples of simple techniques. The Unisex Kimono Robe & Pajamas pattern is used
in Level II and III classes. If you are interested in teaching beginning
sewing and would like more information about our Teacher Training program, visit
